Gavin & Stacey – Series 2- Episode 4
December 1st, 2008
Mick becomes a minor celebrity for the night and Stacey and Gavin start house-hunting, as the acclaimed comedy written by Ruth Jones and James Corden continues. Nessa visits Stacey and shows the others a thing or two at the bowling alley, but tensions between the newlyweds come to a head at the end of the night, and the embarrassed friends take solace in some corn on the cob.
Larry Lamb stars as Mick, Joanna Page as Stacey, Mathew Horne as Gavin, Ruth Jones as Nessa and James Corden as Smithy. Alison Steadman, Rob Brydon and Melanie Walters also star.
This is just so superb, best thing on telly for years ( Alan Partridge was last best thing on ).
Well donem loved the first series, we even had a Gavin and Stacey Evening last Sunday in anticipation of the start of Series 2 this week!!! Must have watched first series about 8 times and have started having little catch phrases between us all, “anyone ordered a Chinese!!
Ruth, you are a star, James you are gorgeous, Mathew you are adorable and Alison Steadman well, am gonna age myself but this is even better than Abigails Party! Please dont ever allow this to have canned laughter tho, please! Oh and Rob Brydon, absolutely fab and Larry Lamb too!!!

This is one of the superb programmes that have been on channel 115 for sky. The last best thing that was on not that long ago was ‘Don’t Tell The Bride!’ I just read about the 2nd part of Gavin and Stacey and I would just like to say i love the whole cast! oh yeah before i go i would just like to say Ruth, your a star! James your fab! Matthew your sweet! Oh Rob Brydon! absolutly adoreable.

no idea if anyone here already knows ( or cares…) but the song that was on G&S today (i think the first of the two) was Heartbreak Soup by The Hot Puppies – http://www.last.fm/music/The+Hot+Puppies/_/Heartbreak+Soup I wouldn’t have noticed it at all myself ( wasn’t watching much ) but the hot puppies are (or were) a really small band from the little welsh town i used to go to uni in, so was kinda weird hearing them on a big bbc show

I loved the injection of Nessa’s perfect Italian at the resturant into the new episode – and the reaction it got from everyone else.
Being a Geology ‘nut’ I wondered if She might interject – on a Beach scene in Barry – at Nell’s Point heading towards Whitmore Bay – something along the lines -Them beds of Black Rock Limestone is packed with fossils – corals and crinoids. Them was laid down when Wales was in the Tropics South of the Equator. Sea was a bit warmer like -than now. And can you see that unconformity between the Carboniferous Limestone and the Triassic conglomerates.
This seems to me to be just the useless stuff Nessa would keep in her mind – another jaw dropping moment
watched the 1st series on the catch up night, for the 1st time and have been waiting in anticipation for this new series ever since. Pleased to say it has surpassed my expectations, and episode 2 had me with tears of laughter, stich in my sides and nearly on the floor it was that funny. Probably the best episode of comedy ever broadcast! I will never groan when I hear take that again, but have a flash back to the breakfast table…superb…and laugh out loud!
Wow!! I never thought the 2nd series would be as good as the 1st-but how wrong can a person be?? It had me in stitches on numerous occasions, when Nessa turned up in the Lorry, that was mint!! I haven’t watched an episode yet which hasn’t made my sides hurt fromlaughing sooooooooo much! I think i am Gavin and Stacey’s No ! Fan!!!! Keep up the excellent work BBCThree

Loving Series 2! Really hope that the fantastic Sheridan Smith will be seen again as Smithy’s sister Rudi. The scene where the pair of them argued then rolled on the floor fighting, was hilarious!
I think the corn on the cob scene is a take-off of a famous film scene. Is it the chess scene in the Thomas Crown Affair?
