Awards time again for Gavin and Stacey this time in its 19th year, Britain’s best-loved comedy awards ceremony returns live to ITV1 on Saturday, 6 December 2008. For one dazzling night the brightest stars in the comedy firmament assemble to celebrate the most original, successful and downright funny moments from a spectacular array of comedic achievement in the last year.

After it’s run ended this evening, BBC Three’s Gavin and Stacey beat the likes of Strictly Come Dancing and Britain’s Got Talent to the BAFTA audience award, voted for by the public.
Co-writer and actor lovely James Corden also won best comedy performance.

The first series of the comedy sitcom Gavin And Stacey (BBC3) has been nominated for the Programme of the Year title at the British Academy Television Awards.
It faces tough competition from Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing, The Apprentice, Andrew Marr’s History Of Modern Britain and drama adaptation Cranford.

Hit BBC3 sitcom Gavin and Stacey has yet another award to brag about after picking up the 2008 South Bank Show Award for TV comedy. The award, presented by Jack Dee, was collected by writers and stars James Corden and Ruth Jones.
The new comedy, which also won a Broadcast Award last week, was named ‘Best New Sitcom 2007′ in our own British Sitcom Awards, and picked up three British Comedy Awards the previous month, was up against Hot Fuzz and Alan Carr for this South

Gavin & Stacey is up for three more TV awards, just days after its British Comedy Award success.
The BBC Three sitcom has been shortlisted in three categories of the industry’s Broadcast Awards: best comedy, best multichannel programme and best new programme.

The winners will be announced in London on January 23.
