admin | Save & Share

digitalspy reported the head of BBC One, Jay Hunt, said

“I talked to Ruth and James a lot about Gavin & Stacey, We’ve got no immediate plans to bring it back. I’m not only a huge fan of the show myself, but I know audiences in their millions loved it last Christmas. So no immediate plans, but I’d certainly say ‘never say never’.”

Accoding to Chortle

Plans for a US version of Gavin & Stacey have been shelved, co-writer Ruth Jones believes

‘I haven’t heard any more and I think we would have heard something by now,’ she told TV Choice magazine. ‘I always felt if they made one and it was successful, then that’s great, but if they didn’t, it was never going to detract from the British version.’

The Daily Mail says

From September, GCSE pupils in Wales will also be scrutinising the words of Gavin and Stacey stars Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon, as well as TV newsreader Huw Edwards for their English qualifications.

The modern language spoken element of the exam is being introduced by Welsh examining board OCR Cymru.
But the move to introduce TV personalities into GCSE exams has been blasted as ‘dumbing down’ by education campaigners.

Joanna Page- A Gavin and Stacey musical would be great fun

admin | Save & Share

A musical based on Gavin and Stacey is unlikely but a nice idea, one of its stars has said.

according to uktheatretickets.co.uk

Joanna Page has said that while she loves the idea of a Gavin and Stacey musical, she is not sure that it would work out too well in real life.

The Welsh actress told BBC Radio 1′s Newsbeat she had read a newspaper report recently which claimed that such a show is in the pipeline.

However, she pointed out that the cast would probably be laughing too much to get through a single performance.

“I’ll tell you what, it would be absolutely hilarious! I think it would be really good fun. But we’d probably all giggle,” Page said.

26 November – Gavin and Stacey Series 3?

admin | Save & Share

According to Sara

Alison Steadman revealed on THIS MORNING that series 3 begins on 26 November.

No word from the BBC Press Office yet, so hold fire on the celebrations.

The DVDs (Which you can see, now have new cover artwork) still show as available on 7 December, which if that is correct, suggests they’ll be showing all the episodes in one week?

I think it’s more likely they want to end it over Christmas.

Discuss….

Rob Brydon says Series 3 is “very good”

admin | Save & Share

“We finished Gavin & Stacey about two weeks ago. I think it’s very good, another great script, but then it’s hard for me to tell because I’m so close to it now.”

“They like it to be secret, but I will say lots of things, momentous things, happen. I can say Uncle Bryn is in it a lot – I think he has more to do than in previous series.

“All the characters move along brilliantly. I just can’t wait to see it now, we all enjoyed filming it so much.”
